GrowSmart Maine Announces New Board Members

Portland – GrowSmart Maine, a statewide non-partisan non-profit with offices in Portland, is pleased to announce the recent election of Rachel Bouvier, Ph.D. and the Hon. Ted Koffman to their Board of Directors.

FullSizeRenderRachel Bouvier is founder and principal of rbouvier consulting, a private consulting firm specializing in socio-economic analysis, market and economic research, statistical analysis, and community economic development.  She earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she focused on the relationship between economic inequality and environmental quality. She also holds a Master’s degree in Resource Economics and Community Development from the University of New Hampshire.  Before embarking upon her independent consulting journey, she was Associate Professor of Economics (with tenure) and Adjunct Professor of Environmental Science and Policy at the University of Southern Maine from 2005 – 2014.

TedKoffmanPrior to serving as Maine Audubon’s executive director (2009-2014), Ted Koffman worked as an administrator at College of the Atlantic (COA) for 33 years. There he helped establish the Eco-Eco Policy Forum concerned with the relationship of economics and ecology in Maine’s future, seeking common goals among business leaders, environmental organizations, and government agencies. Eco-Eco’s focus included promoting smart growth policy, and downtown revitalization and affordable workforce housing. Ted also served in the House of Representatives (2000-2008) where he chaired the Joint Committee on Natural Resources and the Community Preservation Advisory Committee.
