Smartinis – Augusta

This is the first of an ongoing series of social gatherings with a smart growth focus, open to members of the Maine Alliance for Smart Growth, a program of GrowSmart Maine. This event is designed to comply with current COVID-19 rules for large gatherings. We will be outdoors, with suitable space for social distancing. Face coverings, gloves, and hand sanitizer will be provided while food and beverage will be presented to minimize close interactions.

Our goal is to host a fun social event that raises awareness of GrowSmart Maine, the Augusta Downtown Alliance, and the Maine Alliance for Smart Growth, while highlighting downtown Augusta as a vibrant, interesting place to live, work and play. Each Smartini event features a different location, and we are genuinely excited to launch the Smartinis by shining a spotlight on GrowSmart Maine’s office location.

For this event, we will offer a scavenger hunt of smart growth initiatives found along Water Street and the Kennebec River. These include green space, rehabilitation and reuse of historic buildings, arts and culture, public infrastructure, and mixed-use development. We will offer one martini or beer to each person as they complete the scavenger hunt, offering non-alcoholic beverages and light refreshments as well. We encourage people to stay for dinner in Augusta once the event is complete.

$10 ticket price, $12 at the door.  21+.
